It has the following features: placed in a box; visually attractive; letters of different fonts and size; proportionate spacing; word limit: 50.)
Answer

Method. A poster is scored on completeness of information and layout, not on fine writing. Answer these before you write a word: Who is announcing it? What is it? Why? When? Where? What are the attractions? What is the slogan? Is there a charge? Who has issued it? Every blank in the frame corresponds to one of those questions. Keep to the fifty-word limit, use phrases rather than sentences, and put the biggest lettering on the event name and the slogan.

What a good poster must contain: the whole thing inside a box; the organiser at the top; the event name in the largest letters; date, time and venue complete (the date and time are already printed for you — 25 February, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.); three highlights; the slogan; the entry line; and the issuing authority at the bottom right.

Sample answer — the completed poster (49 words):

Why the blanks are placed where they are: read the poster from top to bottom and it answers the reader’s questions in the order a reader asks them — who is calling me? to what? why? when? where? what will I get? what will it cost? who says so? If your poster answers them in that order, the layout will look right even before you decorate it. Save the decoration for last, and never let a border eat into the information.
